First Annual Downtown Des Moines Scavenger Hunt

Registration deadline for entry is midnight of January 15th, 2009.

Registration is required for at least one of the individuals in the team at: scavengerhunt.livingdowntowndesmoines.com.

Game can be played individual or in teams, regardless of number of players per team, only ONE digital camera is allowed to be used during the game.

Registered participants need to be present at 418 Liberty Condos Unit #904, located at 418 6th Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309 by 7:30 CST promptly. Official rule sheet will be provided as well as list of items to be found and photographed for the game. 

Registrants will be allowed to officially start play beginning at 7:45 pm, Central Standard Time.

Game play may commence until 11:30 pm Central Standard Time. All registrants that would like to be considered for winning must return no later than 11:30 pm CST.

Game play occurs as follows:

Review scavenger hunt list and set your strategy to accomplish the following game objective:

Locate and visit ALL locations of the game based on clues provided and emulate the picture provided and perform any tasks associated with that location and return back to 418 Liberty Condos Unit #904 no later than 11:30 pm CST.

In the event that you and your team (as applicable) are unable to locate and visit ALL locations listed, complete as many as possible and make it back to 418 Liberty Condos Unit #904 no later than 11:30 pm CST.

There will be winners for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Winning occurs as follows.

Prior to 11:30 pm CST, the team leader or individual must return to 418 Liberty Condos Unit #904 and check in with the host. You will be given a number that corresponds to position of your return. For example the first team returning will be given #1, second team #2, and so forth.

Team leader or individual will provide the total number of locations that they have visited and documented on their digital camera.

At 11:30 pm CST, no more entries will be accepted.  You must be checked back into Unit 904.

The team or individual that completed the most scavenger hunt tasks will be considered for first place. In the event of a tie, the team that arrived the earliest back to 418 Liberty Condos Unit #904 as indicated by their return position number provided by the host will be considered for first place. 

Game host will then review the digital pictures taken on the camera used by the team in first place consideration for validation of winning. If winner can be validated, Game Host will declare first place winner and reward 1st place team or individual with 1st place designated winnings.

Second and third place will follow same guide lines and rules as first place for their respective categories. 

Winners must be present at the time of winning announcement.

 Game Host reserves the right to make determination of winning individual or team in the event of any discrepancies. Game Host decisions are considered final.

 By participating in this game, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the Game Host. 

By participating in this game, each entrant agrees that his or her name and photo may be released publicly or used in publicity ventures to for future promotion of the game.

 Game Host(s) and participating business and sponsors shall be held harmless for all claims, including any loss, damage or legal liability.
